Periodontal Treatment
Healthy teeth and healthy gums go together. Periodontal (gum) disease can lead to tooth loss and other health problems
We check the health of your gums at each exam and teeth cleaning appointment. Your dental hygienist will gently examine your gums for any signs of periodontal disease.
Prevention and early diagnosis makes treatment easier. We offer non-surgical, laser periodontal therapy and comfortable anesthesia to treat periodontal disease.
Inflamed, red, and swollen gums are a symptom of periodontal (gum) disease known as gingivitis. This condition can lead to a more serious condition called periodontitis. If untreated this can cause tooth loss.
A teeth cleaning is an effective way to begin treating your symptoms. Plaque is removed above and below your gum line.
Often a deeper cleaning – known as scaling and root planing – is necessary to eliminate plaque build-up. If your periodontal disease has progressed, we may recommend a few surgical procedures to treat the damaged gum tissue.
